Me after running half marathon on Nov. 28, 2010.Recently I had been training for the UNICEF Charity Run. The half marathon today around the Hong Kong Disneyland is my longest-distance running so far.
I was never a religious runner, until a few months ago when my company said it will sponsor us to run for the event.
`Alrighty. Let's do a 10K to challenge ourselves,' I told my colleague next to me. She hikes a lot, but rarely runs.
`No! 10K is too short, we should do half marathon!' another super-fit colleague overheard the conversation and pursuaded us.
Without even processing her words into meanings, a `sure, why not?' came out from my mouth.
And then my running history began.
From barely jogging for 20 mins to running comfortably for an hour to crossing the finishing line at the '2 hours 1 minute' mark today, I gradually induldge in long-distance running.
It is more than just a physical training. More so it gives a peaceful state of mind which I can find nowhere else.
Now I like running more than ever.
Thanks my partner Monami and everyone who inspired, supported, trained and ran with me.
Meet you on the track in the next marathon.
